Auto Tech Center: Service FAQ
Please take a look below for the answers to some of our frequently-asked questions.
How long will it take to service or repair my car?
Much of the time, we can offer same-day service. In some cases, repairs can take longer based on the amount of work required, a need to order parts, or (we hate to say it!) customers not getting back to us. We are also finding that some parts are taking longer to acquire lately due to supply chain delays, but we will do everything we can to have you back on the road quickly.
How much will my auto repair cost?
While we can only provide you with a precise, detailed estimate after we evaluate your car in person, we can provide general estimates for some services right away. If you have a question about cost, please give us a call and ask.
Do you charge for estimates?
If we can determine the problem from visual inspection or from an initial road test, there’s no charge for the estimate. If our technicians need to spend time disassembling or using diagnostic tools, though, the cost will be in line with the amount of work required.
What makes of vehicle do you work on?
We can handle most foreign, import, and domestic cars and light trucks. If you have a specialty vehicle, please contact us. We may still be able to accommodate you.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
Most of our parts have a 24 month/24,000 mile warranty. Some parts and services may have a longer or shorter warranty period, and you can always ask us if you have a concern. We are also a NAPA AutoCare center, which means that our NAPA parts have nationwide warranty coverage. If you plan to travel out of state for long periods, be sure to ask us about NAPA parts.
Do you offer rides to work?
Yes! We’re happy to drop you off, within a limited area. If you need a ride, please let us know ahead of time when booking your appointment.
Do you use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts?
Yes, we do. We also use after-market parts of equal or better quality, especially when doing so can save you time and money. We will gladly use only OEM parts at your request.
Do you provide towing services?
Although we don’t tow ourselves, during our normal business hours we’ll be happy to help you arrange towing to our shop. (Please note that if you have AAA towing, you will need to contact them directly.)
Additionally, you don’t need to accompany your car to the shop! Just let us know it’s being towed in, and provide the tow driver with your keys, name, and contact information. We’ll let you know that it arrived and get started on your inspection. If your car is brought in after hours, the tow driver can drop the keys in our night box, and we will update you in the morning.
What does it mean to be ASE certified?
ASE mechanics have been certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, which means they’ve passed rigorous testing in a variety of fields to ensure that they are qualified to work on a range of vehicles. On top of passing these tests, ASE mechanics must have two years of on-the-job experience, or a two-year degree in auto repair with one year of on-the-job training. Mechanics must be recertified every five years to keep their knowledge up to date.
Can you perform a general vehicle inspection?
Sometimes our customers want us to take a look at their vehicle before a long road trip, or at a car they’re thinking about buying, just to be safe. Although we can’t repair something that isn’t broken, we’re happy to look over your vehicle (or a vehicle you’re about to purchase, with the owner’s permission) to see if we can spot anything of concern.
Do you offer fleet repair services?
Yes! We’ve worked on local fleets as small as two vehicles, and large fleets of thirty to forty vehicles owned by national corporations. Please contact us to discuss fleet repair contracts in detail.
